Our Lady of the Lake's PTCC

At Our Lady of the Lake, we extend a warm invitation to all parents to actively participate in our respected Parent-Teacher Cooperative Club (PTCC). Membership in the PTCC includes our dedicated OLL factuly, staff, students, and their families, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. This valued organization plays a vital role in supporting and enriching diverse OLL School activities throughout the year, while also ensuring seamless communication channels between parents, teachers, faculty, and staff.

Who We Are

There are many committees that perform a variety of functions for the school. As a member of the PTCC, parents are encouraged to become involved with, or chair, any committee that interests them. Room Parent responsibilities are also organized by the PTCC. The PTCC partners with the administration and faculty for all Room Parent activities. Please feel free to contact any member of the PTCC Board with questions, or to become involved.

Our Mission

The PTCC's mission is to strengthen, enhance, and encourage the educational and social environment of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic School.

Volunteering

As PTCC members, parents are encouraged to actively engage in committees that interest them. Our volunteer programs are tailored to utilize individual talents and accommodate busy schedules, all to enrich the learning atmosphere and support the school's faculty and staff. Everyone is welcome to volunteer. If you're interested in contributing your time and talents, sign up below and we will reach out.

School Service

Birthday Brunch Birthday brunch is a wonderful day for students to celebrate their birthdays at school with family while enjoying the fellowship of the Our Lady of the Lake community. This committee will assist with setting up and decorating the cafeteria for the quarterly brunch celebrations, serving food, and walking birthday students to and from classrooms to the cafeteria. Volunteers can help with setup or work one shift or the entire celebration period (8:00 AM-10:00 AM).

Call Me If You Need Me When the need arises for additional volunteers throughout the year, the “Call Me” committee serves on an “on-call” basis. If you can’t commit to a particular committee but want to have the opportunity to be a part of the fun when available, this is a great committee to sign up for.

Decorating and Hospitality Share your Cardinal Spirit by showing off your artistic talents and creating beautiful decor for various school events. This committee will also provide refreshments to our OLL families and serve as the welcoming face for current and new families. Volunteer time differs for each event, and since this committee helps with events before and during the school day and in the evening, this committee is great for working parents.

Grandparents' Day One of the most memorable days of the year is when students parade their grandparents around campus, showing off what makes Our Lady of the Lake so special. Grandparents are treated to refreshments, a prayer service, and a tour of their grandchildren’s classrooms. This committee plans and coordinates the special day for grandparents and special guests, sets up decorations, and works the day of the event.

Honor Roll Prayer Service Each quarter, the school hosts a prayer service recognizing the academic achievements of our 4th-7th graders. Volunteers set up and serve refreshments to honor roll recipients after each quarterly honor roll prayer service.

Kindergarten Graduation Kindergarten graduation is made special for our school community through the hard work of our teachers and volunteers. Committee volunteers help decorate and prepare the performance space the day before the event, direct families during the event, and serve refreshments afterward.

Kindergarten Tea Typically held in May, volunteers help the committee chairperson plan this special event for each Kindergartener and their special guest. This committee is a great choice for all parents with children in grades 1-7. We encourage parents who have not yet attended the tea with their child to wait to volunteer for this event until they have experienced it with their child. Volunteers will be needed the day before to set up and the day of the tea for set up, assistance during the event, and clean-up.

Library/AR/Book Fair Volunteers are needed periodically during the school day to help re-shelve books, file, and process new books. You can volunteer weekly, monthly, or at your convenience. This committee will also help plan and staff the Book Fair in January and promote the Accelerated Reading program through our incentive rewards program.

Lost and Found Assist with organizing and distribution of items in the lost and found bin. Volunteers will need to come to school for shifts as needed.

School Supply Program Volunteers help deliver the supply packs to the classrooms in July before the opening of school.

Teacher Appreciation This committee coordinates activities to show our appreciation to the teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Volunteers provide and/or serve food for events honoring our teachers. Volunteers will be needed during the week to assist with various special events for the teachers. Time will vary depending on the day and events planned.

Trunk or Treat Social This night is a great opportunity for fellowship and to enjoy the spirit of Halloween in a safe environment. This committee plans and organizes the event, including recruiting people to host trunks. Volunteers will be needed to assist in planning the event and the night of the event for set up, assistance during, and clean-up afterward. This is a fun committee for everyone!

Uniform Swap This committee organizes the collection and exchange of gently used uniforms at the end of the school year. Volunteers will meet to collect and sort uniforms before the swap, organize the swap, and work the night of the swap. You can volunteer as little or as much as you would like.

PTCC School Fundraising

Art Auction Grade-level helpers may be needed to assist in the creation of a grade-level art project. Helpers will guide students as they create the art projects under the direction of the Art Auction Chairperson. Projects are auctioned off as the kickoff for the Taste of Tammany event held each spring. The Room Parents will assist in bringing the projects to completion.

BoosterThon/Fun Run Assist in the coordination and execution of the BoosterThon Fun Run! Help set up as needed the day before or the morning of the event, and assist the BoosterThon Hype Team in encouraging and cheering on our students the day of the Fun Run! This is a great opportunity for parents who want to volunteer and can commit to assisting in a single-day event!

School Fundraising

Family Fun Night This event is a fun-filled evening for families to kick off the school year! Volunteers will help set up and work a family night of dinner and games. This is a great opportunity for everyone. All parents, especially working parents, can volunteer. Volunteers can work in shifts throughout the night of the event, and it is an excellent opportunity for all to get involved and meet new people at the start of the school year!

Christmas Greens As you prepare to decorate your homes during the Christmas season, don’t forget about our special Christmas Greens fundraiser. This committee will assist in organizing the Christmas greens packets and collecting, organizing, and distributing our family orders at school. Volunteers are needed at school on the days of delivery and distribution.

St. Nick’s Workshop St. Nick’s Workshop is a wonderful Christmas event that gives students the opportunity to purchase gifts for their loved ones right here at school. It also serves as an exercise in budgeting and money handling. The children will embrace the spirit of giving as we celebrate the Christmas season. Volunteers will be needed to package items at home before the event, assist with set-up, help children shop during the event, and tear down at the end of the event.

Community Service

Christmas Adoption Program As a school family, let’s embrace the spirit of giving as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. This committee will assist in planning, collecting, and purchasing items for our adopted families. Committee members will meet for a day of collecting, wrapping, and delivering Christmas gifts for the adopted families.

Caring Cardinals Monthly School Drive Each month, the Our Lady of the Lake School family sponsors a different organization to support through our Caring Cardinals Committee. Volunteers coordinate and collect various items for our monthly school drives, which take place in the morning before school. This a great volunteer opportunity for working parents.

OLL Service Committee (Christmas and Lenten) This committee works to give OLL students an opportunity to reach into themselves and give to others through service and/or sacrifice during each holiday season. Volunteers will assist in collecting and displaying the services performed by our OLL students during the Christmas and Lenten seasons. Volunteer time would be minimal but would be done at school.

OLL Veterans Day Committee This committee works to give OLL students the opportunity to thank our Veterans. Volunteers will assist in creating a display with pictures of Veterans from our OLL community.

Volunteering for this committee is a reward in itself: thanking those who freely gave so much so that we could live in freedom and practice our faith. It is very flexible in terms of time.

Thanksgiving Basket Project Let’s be thankful for all our blessings. Join this committee to coordinate and collect food items for Thanksgiving baskets to be donated to families in our community. Committee members will meet one morning to assemble and deliver the baskets to the Samaritan Center.
