Welcome to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic School’s website. It is my hope that, as you glance through these pages, you will notice that the primary reason that our school exists is to save souls. In the tradition of St. John Bosco, we emphasize Jesus, present in the Eucharist, and love for His Mother Mary. Through the practice of reason, religion, and loving kindness, which are the basic tenets of St. John Bosco’s methodology, we create an atmosphere in which our children are offered the best in academics and co-curricular activities, while being given the opportunity to participate in the sacraments of the church.
In the early 1800s, the Blessed Mother showed fourteen-year-old John Bosco in a dream that he would spend his life bringing the young to Christ. Though still too young to comprehend the meaning of the dream, the boy, John Bosco, would become a shepherd among sheep, gathering and watching over God’s children for his lifetime. He would teach them their faith and provide for them a family environment, while working alongside educators and cooperators whose primary focus would always be the salvation of souls.
Here at Our Lady of the Lake, we further St. John Bosco’s mission by offering opportunities for growth and grace. For over a century, our school has remained a powerful presence on the Northshore, and we would love for you to be a part of that rich tradition.
As the Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake, it is my duty to work diligently with our Headmaster to make sure that your child will have every tool necessary for his or her success. Our goal is nothing short of shaping your child into a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
In Christ,
Rev. John F. Talamo,
Pastor
