Dear
Parents & Students:
Welcome to the 2006-2007 school year. We are expecting this to be another great
school year with emphasis on healthy eating habits. We will be serving meals that are low in fat,
salt and sugar. Milk is included with
the lunch. As in the past we will be
selling box juice and water for 50c neither of which can be substituted for the
milk. We cannot give you a credit or
refund if your child does not drink milk.
Due
to the significant increase in costs related to Hurricane Katrina, meal prices
must be increased next school year. Our
program is required by federal regulations to operate on a non-profit
basis. This increase is necessary to
keep us fiscally sound. Meal prices for
the 2006-2007 school year are listed below.

Please see handbook on lunches brought from home.
If your child has food allergies or any special dietary
needs this must be documented by a recognized medical professional and must
state the special dietary need and a list of foods to be omitted/substituted
PAYMENTS
FOR LUNCH
This
year school policy is that every student is to start with at least $20 in there
account. If your child brings his/her
lunch and forgets it, they will not be allowed to call home. If your child’s
balance falls to zero or below no extras will be allowed. Monthly payments are still accepted and if
you prefer, you may pay for two months, ½ year or even the entire school
year. It is in violation of the State
Department of Education guidelines to allow any student to charge lunches. Anyone may apply for the Free/Reduced lunch
program. A new form must be completed at
the beginning of each new school year for each student. All applications are confidential.
When
paying for your child’s lunch (separate check for each child), please include
on your check, student’s name, account number and homeroom. By doing this we can be sure that your child
will receive proper credit.
We
will continue to use the computer for collecting and recording lunch
payments. This system is the most
accurate. Your child’s complete history
can be reviewed at any time. Returning
students will keep their lunch number from last year, new students will be
assigned a new number.
Any
questions, comments or ideas are welcome at any time,
call me at 626-7609. Also, if you have
some time to spare, we can use your help in the cafeteria between the hours of
10:30-12:30. Thanking you in advance for
your continued support and cooperation.
